Creating assessment items for adaptive quizzing for Health Sciences

Created design and development of Adaptive quizzing, scenario-based learning case studies , and outcome-based learning which is tied to the learning objectives and study guides. The scope also included project management support and quality assurance. We delivered content in compliance with style guide and the suggestions given by the subject matter experts and language experts. The subjects included- Medicine, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Veterinary and allied sciences.

The client is one of the world’s largest publication houses, and is into offering web-based, digital solutions in the field of healthcare education. They boast of a very illustrious portfolio comprising over 1000 journals, 30,000 book titles and reference works. They are actively involved with healthcare education via the e-learning platform, and constantly host many educational up gradation courses. The client was in search of an equally capable partner to design and develop assessment content for various healthcare professionals – Medical , Dental , Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Veterinary and allied sciences in collaboration with the world’s leading e-learning solution provider.

Universal Challenges

• The biggest challenge in any facilitated learning is the accurate evaluation of learning. The teaching-learning process is never complete without an evaluation
• The next challenge is project management, in terms of the volume of content involved and the extensive number of users
• Another big challenge is the quality of the content in terms of subject accuracy and syntax

Challenges- Assessment of learning through questionnaire (assessment writing) in the healthcare domain

• Questionnaires tend to evaluate theoretical learning, but healthcare learning is clinical-based
• Questionnaires are based on average learners, they do not take into consideration, the students who are fast or slow learners
• Questionnaires have limited scope for evaluation of scientific concepts which are multi-faceted and complex
• Questionnaires have limited scope of evaluation when it comes to levels of cognition in a teaching-learning process
• Questionnaires do not facilitate critical-thinking in the test-taker
