Large-scale, doctor-reviewed health content built to US health-literacy standards — produced fast, without compromising medical accuracy.
Client: AnswersMedia (AAFP-supported)
Type: Patient-education content portal

AnswersMedia needed content-writing support for a patient-education portal supported by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), with a fast turnaround and quality meeting international health-literacy standards. The scope was vast — disease conditions; child, teen, men’s, women’s, seniors’, and sexual health; tests, procedures, drugs, supplements and herbs; pregnancy, childbirth and newborn care; nutrition; beauty; fitness; and health news. Producing medically accurate, doctor-reviewed content at that scale and speed, against a strict editorial style guide, is where most teams break.
We applied IMC’s SMART content discipline — Simple, Medically Accurate, Research-based, Targeted. In Sense we internalised the AAFP style guide and health-literacy requirements and mapped the full content scope. In Shape we built an editorial system that produced referenced, plain-language articles structured for both editorial and physician review. In Scale we used IMC’s onlinemedicalwriting.com platform to onboard and train qualified medical writers, supporting the US editorial team across the entire programme.
IMC completed the programme in roughly 1,600 medical-writer hours, including review and editing of the portal information — giving the US editorial team a reliable, scalable source of doctor-reviewed, health-literacy-standard content, and proving that medical accuracy and speed-at-scale are not a trade-off.
